Railway Board-MDDA sign MOU on redevelopment, beautification of Dehradun railway station

Dehradun (DIPR)-In the presence of Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat,Railway Board and Mussoorie- Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the re-development and beautification of Dehradun railway station on Tuesday. As per the project, the Dehradun railway station will have world class infrastructure.

As per commercial development of the Dehradun railway station, there will be improvement and strengthening of traffic control to lessen rush of people, construction of multi level parking, modernization of police post and taxi stand, multiplex, four star hotel, restaurant, kids zone and construction of check in point, establishment of food court, latest ticket and reservation counter with facilities, rest room, dormitory facilities and ATMs. There will be arrangements of ‘Janta Aahar’ for poor people.

 There will be a railway guest house, apartments for railway officials and employees, parking and construction of LIG and MIG flats. There will be all kind of facilities for everybody at the Dehradun railway station. The Dehradun railway station will be linked with Harrawala railway station, ISBT and Jollygrant airport. The Harrawala railway station will be developed as a satellite station and a Transport nagar will also be developed near Harrawala.  The pre-feasibility report about re-development of Dehradun railway station has been given to the Railway Board. The project will cost Rs. 12242.50 lakh and will be completed in two and half years.

Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat congratulated Railway Board and MDDA for redevelopment plan of Dehradun railway station.

Cabinet Minister Yashpal Arya, Legislator Ganesh Joshi, Industrial Advisor to Chief Minister K. S. Panwar, MDDA vice-chairman Dr. Asish Kumar Shrivastava, Vice-president of Railway Land Development Authority Rakesh Goyal, member Anjani Kumar and other senior officials were present on the occasion.
