PM Narendra Modi celebrates Diwali with Indian Army & ITBP jawans

Harshil/ Dehradun (DIPR)-Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi today celebrated Diwali with the Indian Army and ITBP jawans at Harshil. Extending greetings to the jawans on this occasion, the Prime Minister said that you are engaged in safeguarding the countries on remote snowy peaks and you are fully competent to secure the future and dream of 125 crore Indians. He said that Diwali is the festival of light. It spreads the light of goodness and removes fear. He said that through your commitment and discipline, all the jawans are giving the feeling of security and fearlessness to the common people. Prime Minister recalled that since he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he has been celebrating with Diwali festival with jawans. He also shared the memoirs of his conversation with the ITBP jawans, when he visited Kailash Mansarovar several years ago. He said that India is fast moving forward in the defence sector. He also spoke on various measures being taken for the welfare of the ex-servicemen such as OROP (One Rank, One Pension). Prime Minister said that the Indian Army has received praise and appreciation all over the world for its contribution in the UN peacekeeping operations.
