Dehradun (dipr)–Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat flagged off 26 new ambulances of 108 emergency services at Mahatama Gandhi Shatabadi Eye Treatment Science centre here. The Chief Minister also inaugurated the equipment worth Rs 2 crore donated by Hans Foundation.

Talking to media persons informally, Chief Minister said that 108 emergency ambulances services have proved to be life savers in Uttarakhand. He said that the state government has been making constant efforts to improve health services in the state. Chief Minister said that to strengthen the health services that old ambulances were substituted by 61 BLS ambulances vehicles in November last and today 26 new ambulances have been added. He further said that till today, a total of 87 BLS ambulances have been included and soon 34 more BLS ambulances and 16 ALS ambulances will be provided in the services of the people. He said that air ambulance service has been started from January 26 which would prove to be a boon for patients under emergency situations.
Chief Minister said that Hans Foundation is playing an important role in the development of the state and the Foundation has donated equipment worth Rs two core to Mahatama Gandhi Eye hospital which was inaugurated today. The CEO of Hans Foundation Gen. S.M.Mehta ( retd), Director General Health and family welfare Dr T.C.Pant were present.
