Uttarakhand C.S. & U.P. Chief Secretary hold meeting in Lucknow

Dehradun 28 June, 2018-In the Secretariat Annexe Lucknow, a meeting was held on Thursday between Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Mr. Utpal Kumar Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Mr. Rajiv Kumar about the division of assets and liabilities. The meeting was positive. Agreement was reached upon many important issues. Some issues have also been agreed upon to refer to the union government.

Chief Secretary Reorganization Anand Bardhan informed that Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Agency will give Rs 3.9 crores to the Department of Fisheries of Uttarakhand. Likewise, Uttar Pradesh Forest Corporation has agreed to give Rs 99 crore rupees to the Uttarakhand Forest Corporation in the first phase. The remaining amount will be given by Uttar Pradesh by deduction in income tax liability in the next phase. Food Department, Uttarakhand has agreed to give Rs 105 crore to the Uttar Pradesh Food Department.

Apart from this, Uttar Pradesh Transport Corporation has agreed to give Rs 8.27 crore to Uttarakhand Transport. Uttar Pradesh Power Department will make a payment of Rs 174 crore of the PPF of the Uttarakhand Power Department employees. Uttarakhand will pay electricity bill of Rs 160 crore to Uttar Pradesh. For the Maneri Bhali hydroelectric project, the matter of undivided Uttar Pradesh taking loans and not spending on this project will be referred to the Government of India. It was agreed between the two states that 25 percent of the land of the irrigation department situated on the border of Uttarakhand will be given to Uttarakhand.

The meeting was attended by Secretary Amit Negi, R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Dilip Javalkar, Arvind Singh Hayanki  and other senior officers of Uttar Pradesh.
