Dehradun 12 July, 2018 –Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat in an informal interaction with the media on Thursday said that provision of strictest punishment for criminals for heinous crimes such as rape with minor girls is required. Therefore, provision for the death penalty for the convict of raping minor girls in the state would be made, so that such heinous crimes can be stopped. He said that a bill will be introduced in this regard in the forthcoming assembly session.
On the question of the loss due to heavy rain in the state, Chief Minister said that for this, amount of Rs 50-50 lakhs has been given to all the District Magistrates and added that all the District Magistrates have been instructed to provide quick relief and support to the disaster victims. Chief Minister said that it takes time to assess the damage caused by the disaster but it is our priority to get it done as soon as possible to ensure that affected can get relief. He said that the shortage of funds will not be allowed to help the disaster victims.
