It is our endeavour that this should not just be confined to celebrating Himalaya Diwas for just a day. Conventions, seminars etc. will be organised at different places throughout the week. Safe Himalaya affects not only India but also a large population of the world. Protection of the Himalayas is essential for securing life. For this, along with the efforts being made by the government, everyone will have to play an important role by taking collective responsibility for the protection of the Himalayas.
Chief Minister said that about 65 per cent of our food grains are supplied from Ganga basin, whereas 65 per cent of the water supply is from the Himalayas. Himalaya’s spiritual, social, health and economic impacts have huge impact. Himalaya is also a symbol of purity. Himalayan protection is not only verbal but also spiritual.
