A.C.S. instructed officials of PWD to get the roads repaired without delay


Dehradun 13 September, 2018(DIPR)-In pursuance of orders of honorable courts, the exercise of demolition, identification of illegal encroachments and illegal constructions on footpaths, lanes, roads and other places and sealing of illegal encroachments in Dehradun city by Mussoorie- Dehradun Development Authority, Municipal Corporation, Dehradun and district administration has been going on.

Additional Chief Secretary Om Prakash said that the work to demolish illegal encroachments by anti-encroachment task force has been going speedily. Om Prakash said that traffic is being diverted at the places where anti-encroachment drive is being undertaken so that there is no inconvenience to general public and the anti-encroachment work is also not affected.

He appealed to the general public to support the anti-encroachment drive and keep patience and keep extending their support for the cause. He further said that the orders of the honorable courts on removing illegal encroachments are being followed in letter and spirit.

Om Prakash said that roads in Dehradun have been damaged due to rains and general public is facing inconvenience. Expressing his displeasure, Additional Chief Secretary took officials of PWD department to task and instructed them to get the roads repaired without delay. He said that the potholes on the roads should be filled with RBM, tiles and bricks firmly so that there is no possibility of any untoward accident. He warned the engineers of the PWD department that any laxity in filing the potholes on roads will not be pardoned.

 Om Prakash again appealed to those who have encroached upon government land to remove their encroachment themselves or else anti-encroachment task force will ensured its removal. He further said that if the anti-encroachment task force will remove such encroachments then the encroachers will be made to pay for the demolition work as land revenue.

Om Prakash asked the officers of all the departments to complete their works on schedule time. He said that the work of widening, stone work and beautification of roads should be ensured speedily. He instructed the officers of PWD department to get the work of leveling and stone work completed of the roads and power department officials to complete the works of transformers, shifting of power lines and electricity poles and works related to HT and LT lines.

Additional Chief Secretary Om Prakash said that under the anti-encroachment drive on Thursday, 67 illegal encroachments were demolished and 10 illegal encroachments identified and two buildings were sealed. Till date, a total of 4933 illegal encroachments have been demolished, 8608 illegal encroachments have been identified and 139 buildings have been sealed.
