Dehradun (PIB): The Animal Husbandry Statistics Division, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD) organized a briefing session of the newly engaged National Level Monitors (NLMs) today at Dehradun. The program was organized to interact with the State Animal Husbandry Department officers involved with different DAHD’s schemes specially Rashtriya Gokul Mission (RGM), National Livestock Mission (NLM), National Program for Dairy Development (NPDD) and Livestock Health and Disease Control Program (LHDCP).

This briefing session was a part of weeklong field visit of the NLMs to oversee the implementation of projects at field level across the state. This session was organized to give a comprehensive understanding of the programs and their objectives, enabling the NLMs to play a pivotal role in assessing the implementation of the schemes with its tone and tune of the scheme guidelines.

The session was chaired by Dr. B.V.R.C. Purushottam, IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry, Government of Uttarakhand in the presence of Shri V P Singh, Director and Shri Mukesh Dutt Sharma, Assistant Director, Animal Husbandry Statistics Division, DAHD, Govt Of India. The State officers implementing the schemes RGM, NLM, NPDD and LHDCP made their presentations before NLMs on details of implementation including current status of the projects, output challenges etc. After session the NLMs will now move to field to make assessment of program and see its performance and implementation. Once this assessment is over, the NLMs will submit a detail report to DAHD enabling and ensuring transparency, accountability and efficient implementation viz a viz to assure the achievement of Government vision of empowering livestock of the farmers. The session was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Neeraj Singhal, Director, Animal Husbandry Department, Government of Uttarakhand.
